Nashville, TN - Day 3
Today has been the most fun! Started out with a water leak...the hose connect was loose. With the problem fixed (of course, by my handyman) and Gracie & Raf settled in, Scott and I set off on our next adventure...
This was NOT our first time Uber-ing, but I must admit, we are both still new to the racket. Garey our driver was NOT the talkative sort...hey...to each his own, but Garey opened up just before we arrived at our destination...where he said, "good luck getting a ride back!" "Um, WHAT???"
Apparently, we were far out and Ubers were scarce there according to good ol' Garey...um, do we stay or do we do a complete roundabout to the KOA? We took our chances...and I'm SO glad we did.
The boys at AdventureWorks zip-line were SO much freaking fun! Check them out at: www.adventureworks.com. (Fontanel)
John & Jerry were funny, charming, & did I say FUNNY? It was Jerry's last tour before heading out on the Appalachian Trail, so that made it even more special for the three couples taking the tour. We laughed a lot, burned some calories hiking straight up & enjoyed the views zipping down...if you have the time, you should definitely hang out here!
Happy trails on your next adventure, Jerry! We had an EXCELLENT time in Fontanel flying through the Tennessee trees with you both! John, we'll send 'em your way!!
What was an unexpected, added bonus about Fontanel was that there was so much more to do than zip-line! Winery, distillery & a restaurant with live music...everything really was right there. With a nearby amphitheater, the area alone would be a perfect overnight getaway! Something to consider next time...but definitely check the place out at www.fontanel.com
We HIGHLY recommend!
The restaurant, Café Fontanella (perfectly settled between the alcohol places), was really great too! Fun staff, good food...we felt more at home here than we have on our entire trip so far. I didn't even care that I had post zip-line hair!! And the staff was nice enough to pretend that they didn't notice either!!
We also stopped by the Prichard's Distillery across the parking lot, where we (of course) made some purchases...after a brief window of some nice whiskey tasting! Friendly staff. Cute little place. Stop by and see them if you're in the area :)
*On a side note, you can get some of these fine Prichard goods at our nearby favorite Salt Creek Brewery!!! Check them out @www.saltcreekbrewery.com!
Our Uber-ride back to our KOA was with a nice boy, named David, who had the weekend off from his country music touring. We haven't listened to his CD yet, but we bought it :) He was talkative and fun on our ride back to the Swinger. We'll remind you later that we knew him before when...check him out at www.davidkrollmusic.com.
Sweet dreams, ya'll!!! Until tomorrow...
