Carey Institute for Global Good

Congratulations to the newlyweds Jamie & Shannon!!

We were SO happy that we were able to make the wedding of these two...because we almost couldn't get the Swinger to the destination. However, if you know Scott...he somehow ALWAYS makes it happen! Our main obstacle was a low overhead bridge, which thankfully we noticed the sign just before the thing took off our roof A/C! SO, with a little jaunt around to find another route, we arrived with just under an hour to spare...to shower & get to the hillside! We made it with about five minutes til showtime!

I wish we had taken the time to take more pictures of this place, but with all of the excitement, it kinda slipped our minds...SO, I went to their website www.careyinstitute.org to pull some. Just imagine the Dirty Dancing movie...the place reminded me SO much of that...if only they were offering merengue lessons (if you remember, Baby couldn't do those)!

There just could not have been a more wonderful backdrop than this place for a wedding! I was a bit worried with the heat (mid 80's), but the sun dipped to our backs and it cooled just enough at the right moment to make it perfect!

The happy hour (I am quite certain there is a more appropriate term for this at a wedding, but it escapes me) followed the taking of wedding pictures, so we took a quick stroll down the grassy hill to where we were greeted with a glass of wine. Loved the outdoor space & the deer that got SO CLOSE to us...and the hors d'oeuvres were just wonderful (and the cheese wrapped in black raspberries??...if anyone knows what this was, let me know...AMAZING)!

Another quick walk had us at the main building for dinner. The food was wonderful and the bar was OPEN. The staff was attentive and fun and the emcees were the BEST I've ever seen! Hats off to Mike on the mic & Nate the break-dancer! What a performance these two gave!!! An amazing time was had by all!!

We finished our visit at CIGG with a wonderful breakfast, served by the staff who had taken care of us the night before...you never would have known that they had had only three hours of sleep! With full bellies and hugs from the family...Trail Blaising Adventures waved goodbye and headed back down the mountainside to our next destination...Matt, Tammy, Ally, Alex, Jordyn and my ANGEL Jayde!! Let the spoiling begin!!!

Until next time, safe & happy trails!

Scott & Natalie
